2001: A Space Odyssey: Week One

Written by Michael Rogers. 63 comments Posted in: Uncategorized

The discussion on the Sci-fi blogs should be a review of what you’ve read at home. Talk about what’s happening, the characters, the setting, your favorite moment, and of course even things that you are confused or unclear about.  Respond to others.

There should be an average of five posts per person, per week over the next four weeks.  Refer to specific page numbers and use quotes.

Be courteous and respectful.
Happy Blogging.

The TMa-1 s what the humans called the crystal monolith that was sent by the aliens. The monolith helped in the evolution of Man and Apes, without the monolith the ape kind would have been extinct because it sad that the aps would have starved and died if it weren’t for the monolith, the Aliens sent it for a reason to help their civilization thrive for a purpose in the future, The aliens had a plan.

I find it amusing most of the science and ideas of the future is relatively sound with a few exceptions such as the journey to the moon taking only a day and the use of typewriters on a moon base. Other things such as the gravity and mass on the moon, the artifical gravity by spinning, and other such things that are surprisingly acurate.

Yeah… I think that the writer could have come up with something more futuristic than a typewriter if they could make such a perilous journey in one day. It is science fiction

The man-apes were able to evolve because of the monolith. The monolith allowed the species to survive when the race was dying. It somewhat mutated them into learning how to be able to use tools and do more advanced and futuristic things. They also began to become carnivores rather than starving because of the failure to eat enough vegetables and berries

correction, it only taught them four things, and with that information they developed from that.
